Munck Wilson Mandala welcomes litigation partner Marina Bogorad to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Bogorad has an impressive record of litigation wins and appellate successes in state and federal courts. In her 22-year legal career, she has handled a wide variety of complex litigation matters from inception to appeal. She joins MWM from Gerard Fox Law in Los Angeles, where she was a partner for many years.

Bogorad is well-known for her attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to different industries in complex litigation, including entertainment, engineering, and finance. She leads efforts in case-dispositive and appellate briefings, court appearances, and client interaction. Her fluency in Russian also gives her an advantage in handling various international matters.
Among her successes, Bogorad represented a Russian high net worth individual in a multibillion-dollar London-based litigation, one of the largest private commercial disputes ever brought to an English court, as part of the team named Legal Business’ Litigation Team of the Year. She also represented a major doll manufacturer in an intellectual property dispute with the Barbie-doll enterprise. She has handled various winning appeals, including an appellate victory for a foreign investor involving a failed movie production and breach of contract action between a legal recruiter and a national law firm.
One of her most well-known appellate victories involved representing two songwriters in a copyright infringement action against Taylor Swift and Co. in Hall v. Swift, followed by defeating a summary judgement on remand. Bogorad was honored as a Billboard’s Top Music Lawyer for 2023 based on her work on that case.
Bogorad received her J.D. from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law. In law school, she won a Best Moot Court Oral Argument and two American Jurisprudence Awards, among others. She received her B.A. from UCLA in political science and Russian Studies, graduating magna cum laude. At MWM, Bogorad will support the West Coast litigation team on a variety of commercial litigation matters as well as support the firm’s entertainment and appellate practices.
